24.07.12 | Charlotte Williams - The Bookseller
Associate publisher Sherise Hobbs and editor Kate Byrne bought British Commonwealth and ANZ rights from Tawanna Sullivan at Penguin US in the title, as well as the author's full backlist. The e-book serialisation will be followed by publication of the complete novel in e-book and paperback later this year. Each of the eight e-books will be priced at £1.49, and will be titled: Because You Tempt Me, Because I Couldn't Resist, Because You Haunt Me, Because You Must Learn, Because I Said So, Because You Torment Me, Because I Need To and Because I Am Yours.
The book follows young art student Francesca Arno who is commissioned by billionaire Ian Noble to create a centre piece for his Chicago skyscraper. The chemistry between them draws them into a "passionate, all-consuming relationship that will change them both forever".
Hobbs said: "The entire team at Headline has fallen head over heels for Ian and Francesca and the prospect of publishing their love story as an e-book serialisation, which leaves the reader breathless for more after each instalment, is simply irresistible."
