Detective fiction is on the rise in children's writing, as evident in the shortlist for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, one of the most valuable prizes for children's writing in the UK and now in its 11th year. This year's shortlist includes six titles in which children are left to their own devices to solve mysteries, reminiscent of old favourites like Enid Blyton's Famous Five and the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series.Press Release
