Come and hear Mary Macpherson and Vivienne
Plumb.
Vivienne Plumb (right) currently holds the 2012 Randell
Cottage writing residency in Wellington . She writes poetry, fiction and drama
and has held a University of Iowa writing residency in U.S.A. and the Buddle
Findlay Sargeson Writing Residency in Auckland , and has been awarded the
Hubert Church Prose Award and the Bruce Mason Playwrighting Award. She has read
overseas at several arts festivals and writing events including the Chicago
Festival of Humanities, World Poetry Festival, Malaysia, Vilenica in Slovenia,
and Cuirt in Galway, Ireland. Her last collection of poetry was thirty prose
poems written on 'iconic' New Zealand subjects, and entitled: 'The Cheese and
Onion Sandwich and Other New Zealand Icons'.
Mary Macpherson (above left) is a Wellington poet and photographer. Her work
has appeared in many print and online journals such as Sport, Hue and Cry,
Landfall, Etchings and Trout. Her poetry publications include the joint
collection Millionaire’s Shortbread (OUP) and The Inland Eye
(Pemmican Press). Her most recent work is Old New World, a book of her
photographs about change in New Zealand society as seen in small town New
Zealand . Her reading will focus on work that connects with her
photography practice.
