Last Thursday, 14 March, a
function was held to celebrate the 42nd Katherine MansfieldMenton Fellow, Justin Paton. Members of the Winn-Manson Trust, The New
Zealand-France Friendship Fund, Creative New Zealand and the Embassy of France
along with other invited guests congratulated Justin.
The 41st Fellow, Chris Price, spoke
about her experience in Menton and read extracts from work written during her
residency. Chris will be giving the inaugural Katherine Mansfield Menton
Lecture at City Gallery, Wellington , on Thursday 17 May at 5.30.
Christchurch author and
curator, Justin Paton will spend his time in Menton working on a book
about‘shelter, memory, belonging and place’. Justin and his family leave for
the residency in Menton in the South of France at the end of March.
The Katherine Mansfield
Menton Fellowship is one of New Zealand 's longest-standing and most
prestigious literary opportunities for established and mid-career New Zealand
writers and is supported by the New Zealand-France Friendship Fund and Creative
New Zealand.
