The
latest offering from Grantham House, Phil Dickson’s Wellington, was
launched last night by the Honourable Annette King at the CQ Hotel in Cuba
Street (see second attachment)
It
is an art book that takes the reader on an exciting journey around Wellington –
beyond the tar-seal streets – where the reader can explore all the beauty of
the surrounding hills and valleys, the streams and the natural environment.
Wellington’s
topography and its harbour are assets to be treasured, where they can enjoy the
wonderful backdrop of their hills and harbour from most residences and
commercial locations. Opportunities for the adventurer are never far away
and this book through Phil Dickson’s art takes you on this journey.
Phil Dickson is an
elected artist member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts and an active
member of Wellington Art Club and exhibits regularly at their exhibitions as
well as at other art societies. Phil was recently a guest artist at a Watercolour
New Zealand National Exhibition.
Phil
Dickson, Wellingtonian, wanderer and artist, invites the reader on a voyage of
self-discovery in and around the city and further afield in the nearby forest
parks. His sketches and paintings, together with his historical
knowledge, reflect his love of his home city.
