I spoke to Lynn Rogan, the Art Director of Advertising and Promotions for Penguin, about this new project that Penguin took on.

The book truck will be Penguin's first mobile bookstore. It made its debut at Book Expo on May 30th, and will be traveling around the country to stop at literary events in the following year.
Some of the highlights include the Delacorte Theater in Central Park for Manhattan's Shakespeare in the Park, the American Library Association's annual conference in Chicago and Mark Twain's house in Hartford, Connecticut for "Tom Sawyer Day."
In October, in honor of the 75th anniversary of the publication of John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath, the truck will travel West on Route 66 from Oklahoma to California, in the footsteps of the Joad family from Steinbeck's classic.

The truck will stock books from all of Penguin's imprints, and will also be customized for individual events. It holds over 500 books.
As the President of Penguin Group, Susan Peterson Kennedy, it will be a true "moveable feast."
