Stop Hoping Stephen King Will Write an It Sequel

"I don't think I could bear to deal with Pennywise again. Too scary, even for me," Stephen King told a fan asking about an It sequel on Reddit today. So that's that. (Probably — he does have a sequel to The Shining coming out in September.) The brief but lovely Ask Me Anything session revealed that King's biggest fear is Alzheimer's, that he may end up writing more Dark Tower novels, and that a standalone Randall Flagg story is another one you shouldn't hope for, as King said, "Giving Flagg his own story would make him too coherent, somehow. He's the guy behind the scenes, pulling all the strings." King also confirmed that Lisey's Story — which he said may be his best novel upon publication in 2006 — remains his favorite of his books.
