That Award

Several have asked whether I received a trophy when I was announced last week as the inaugural recipient of the New Zealand Book Industry Lifetime Achievement Award. The answer is yes, and here it is. Made of heart rimu it now occupies pride of place in my office/library. I was also given a specially embossed baseball cap with the name of the award and  Bookman Beattie embroidered on the front. The cap has hardly been off my head since !
