More New Zealand bookshops to soon sell e-books and e-readers

11 Oct 2012 -

From BooksellersNZ;

“For too long New Zealand’s independent book shops have had to watch while their customers buy e-books through major international retailers," said Lincoln Gould, Chief Executive of Booksellers NZ, the membership organisation for the book industry.
"Many bookshops have an eye on the future, selling books through their websites. Now they will have access to sell e-books and e-readers too through Kobo, a well-known and reputable brand with an extensive catalogue,” said Gould.
"Booksellers NZ has been working for some time to identify a supplier who has the content and system flexibility to supply individual bookshops. Kobo has responded to our needs, which includes the supply of e-books from most of New Zealand's publishers.”
“We are delighted that our corporate members Paper Plus and Whitcoulls are also working with Kobo."
Booksellers NZ joins its sister organisations, the American Booksellers Association and the Booksellers Association of the United Kingdom and Ireland in facilitating Kobo's e-book and e-reader services.
