Google has announced a new tablet, the Nexus 10, which it claims has “the world’s highest resolution display”.The device, made by Samsung, will go on sale in the UK on 13th November priced £319 for the 16GM model, with 300 pixels per inch, compared with 264 ppi that the Apple iPad retina display has. Google’s device undercuts Apple’s iPad by £80 in a direct challenge to the larger tablet market share.
Google has also announced a new smartphone handset made by manufacturer LG called the Nexus 4, to go on sale in the UK on the same day costing £239 for the 8GM version. The phone can operate as a games controller when wirelessly connected to a television.
Google also announced it would add music to its Google Play media store in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
