We had just spent an enjoyable couple of hours at The Frick Collection, we go every time we visit NYC, when who should bowl up to us but old mate, former NZ bookseller, (think Auckland area manager Whitcombe & Tombs), London-based boulevardier Phil Thwaites. You could have knocked me over with a feather!!
