Tessa Duder offers a 10-week intensive course in writing for the young
Leading children and young adult writer Tessa Duder offers a 10-week intensive course in writing for the young at Auckland’s writing centre The Creative Hub. The course covers everything from basic principles, to helping participants with work on a full-length novel, with the sessions including discussion on short stories and picture books through to long fiction, plot, dialogue, the feedback process and more. Tessa will also cover the intricacies of the children’s publishing world – how to approach publishers, resources available for writers, manuscript assessment and more. Tutor Tessa Duder is one of New Zealand’s best-known writers for children and young adults, with numerous critically acclaimed books to her credit as well as many awards. She is an active participant in the New Zealand literary community, a former national President of the NZ Society of Authors and served on the Storylines Children’s Literature Charitable Trust of New Zealand.
The Creative Hub is a writing centre on Princes Wharf, downtown Auckland.
