SCOOP

Last week that incorrigible old hound Beverley Baskerville writing in the April issue of Booksellers News kindly described me as indefatigable. I was delighted.
I was even more chuffed than that yesterday to break the news to author Charlotte Grimshaw and her publisher, and the New Zealand media, that she has been longlisted, along with some especially noted writers from around the globe, for the world's richest short fiction prize, the Frank O'Connor Short Story Award. There is a great piece in the New Zealand Herald this morning. Congratulations again Charlotte.

And the timing of all of this could not have been better. OPPORTUNITY, (Random House $28), her new collection of short stories was published yesterday and launched last evening by publisher Harriet Allan at Unity Books in Auckland.
