IS ROBBIE BURNS BEING NUDGED ASIDE BY J.K.ROWLING AND IAN RANKIN?
Most interesting and dear Robbie Burns made it to his great heights on his works alone and the manner in which the peoples of all generations and countries have warmed to and been inspired by his works is legendry. No tourism, no blogs, no radio, no film, no TV, no magazines, hardly any newspapers etc. In my home my late Mother's leather bound volume of Burn's poems sits beside the family bible. Will there be as fine a statue to these writers I wonder, as that which graces our Domain. It fills me with honour and pride every time I pass it. Och aye the noo!! Donald Mackintosh
Aye, I agree with Donald, och aye the noo. Remember Rankin & Rowling are Johnny-come-latelies in this business, they've hardly been around for two decades yet. They have a long way to go to ever match wee Robbie. Aye, they do.
