The Worlds Biggest Book Fair has Finally Arrived and there's a big NZ contingent present

PANZ News

Publishers from around the world have flocked to the 68th Frankfurt Book Fair.
The five day event begins today - 14th October and ends 18th October 2016.

An impressive list of New Zealand publishers have arrived in Frankfurt take part in what the FBF proudly states is the most important marketplace for rights and licenses worldwide. Be sure to watch out for tweets from our publishers!

A special thank you to Gideon Keith, Creative Director and founder of Seven, for the design and branding of the New Zealand stand - doesn't it look great?

The fair has evolved somewhat from the 205 German exhibitors at the first post-war fair in 1949. Today the fair draws thousands of figures from all areas of the industry and the sheer size of it is breathtaking - have a look at the floor plan just to see how extensive it is! The 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair had a total of 269,534 visitors from 132 countries and each year just gets bigger.

This year the fair also hopes to be a Guinness World Record holder. Yes, together with publisher Hoffman und Campe Verlag, Guinness World Records and Sinners Domino Entertainment, Frankfurt Book Fair is organising the setting up of a domino chain of 10,000 Guinness World Record Books to break the world record of 9862 books. That will be a sight!
