Auckland Watercolour Society Awards 

When: Monday 19 October, 6pm - 8pm

Welcome to the opening award ceremony for the Auckland Watercolour Society’s annual merit competition and exhibition.

The exhibition will open with a prize giving and a talk by Michelle Parkinson about the aid work she does in Cambodia with Rangitoto College students.

All paintings are for sale and refreshments will be made available from 6pm on the night.

David Slack discusses Bullrush! 

When: Wednesday 28 October, 6pm
Where: Takapuna Library (First floor)
Cost: $5 ($3 for Friends of the Library)

The Friends of Takapuna Library invite you to a great night out to hear author David Slack talk about his book Bullrush! celebrating the great New Zealand game.

Come along and relive memories of your childhood years and hear how every Kiwi kid either played Bullrush or tried to avoid playing it.

Learn about the history of the game and the part it played in the life of well-known New Zealanders.

Enjoy a glass of wine and some light refreshments and join us for a great night!

Come and meet Deborah Challinor

Come and hear Deborah Challinor discuss her latest novel, A tattooed heart, at Takapuna Library.

This is the fourth and final book in the Convict girls series.

Deborah will also describe the fascinating techniques she uses to research her novels, including entering underground mines and jumping fences into old prison grounds.
