Marvel Made a Darth Vader Comic, and It’s Surprisingly Fun

Every once in a while, the slow march toward a world of oligarchic megacorporations opens up new paths for art. Case in point: Disney’s purchases of Marvel Entertainment and the Star Wars franchise. Now that the Jedi and the Avengers have the same corporate parents, readers are getting a little bit of brand cross-pollination. We don’t have any crossover events between Iron Man and Han Solo (though, as Parks and Recreation conclusively demonstrated, that would be pretty rad), but we do have some of Marvel’s best comics creators getting to play around in the Star Wars universe.
That means a slew of new Marvel series starring Luke and the gang, and tomorrow, you’ll get to read the best of that crop so far: Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larocca’s Darth Vader No. 1.
