Nominations are now open, and will run through until Monday 15
July.
Accomplished poets, resident in New Zealand, who have made an
outstanding contribution to poetry, are eligible for nomination to become the
next New Zealand Poet Laureate. Offered for a two-year period beteen July 2013
and June 2015, the Award has a monetary value of $80,000. During their tenure
the Laureate is supported to participate in events that promote the writing and
reading poetry, and to produce a book of poetry.
