Bloomsday at Auckland central City Library

Ulysses by James Joyce. When: Sunday 16 June, 12.30pm - 3.30pm
Where: Central City Library, Whare Wananga, Level 2Cost: Free

Every year, all over the world, literature lovers get together on 16 June to honour the great Irish writer James Joyce with readings from his novel Ulysses.
Considered by many to be one of the greatest novels of the 20th century, Ulysses follows Leopold Bloom on a day-long modern odyssey as he wends his way through Dublin on 16 June, 1904.
Our celebration includes the launch of Dubliners and Ulysses: bonds of character, a posthumously published work by New Zealand's pre-eminent Joyce scholar David Wright, readings by special guests, plus a bit of Irish refreshment and musical interludes inspired by Ulysses.

12.30pm: Book launch for Dubliners and Ulysses: bonds of character by David Wright
1.15pm: Refreshments
2pm - 3.30pm: Readings from Ulysses by special guests
