Brian Falkner and Cassandra Clare (US) at the Auckland Writers and Readers Festival in Auckland this week!

Brian Falkner, (left),the award-winning author of several novels such as The Tomorrow Code, The Project and The Flea Thing as well as soon to be released junior fiction title Northwood, will be taking part in the Auckland Writers and Readers Festival Schools Programme and Main Program this week.

At the secondary schools session on Wednesday (tomorrow), students will find out the unusual circumstances in Iowa which lead to his sixth book The Project, and on Saturday the public can catch Brian discussing some of his best work at the Wordy Day Out, held at the University of Auckland Business School from 10am.

Cassandra Clare, bestselling author of The Mortal Instruments series and currently Number One on the Children's Bestseller List, will also be partaking in the secondary school days on Thursday 12 May, the Wordy Day Out on Saturday 14 May and the Fantasy Panel, Fantasy: Freedom for All with Garth Nix, Elizabeth Knox and Mago Lanagan on Sunday 15 May.
