Apparently they had a problem with "data corruption" and will be working to restore lost posts. The problem affected everyone who uses this blog provider. It was impossible to find news on this yesterday from any source, but at least Blogger (owned by Google) has now given a little information.
Thanks Claire, much appreciated. Gosh I will be happy if they can restore my Friday posts, there were a bout a dozen of them as I recall!
So glad you are back Bookman, god it was like going cold turkey yesterday without your blog.
It is extremely annoying. Even if we bloggers are providing a free public service, it is very upsetting when hours of the work you put into it disppears.
Glad to advise the Friday posts have been restored! Whew!
Very frustrating. It confirms the recent warnings with reservations about storing everything in the cloud or with another provider.
A recent technology commentator on Radio NZ recommends to the seriously technology - dependent person to use an external hard drive, and a couple of other storage devices - one of which you keep at a friend's place!
And most of us won't. So glad you got the posts back - some of us just thought you were having a good time at the Festival.
Cheers

losing data (files) is a nightmare. Every day, I 'send' my current work in progress to myself at school and to my husband's IPS. That way, I have three digital records of what I have done.
An author's worst nightmare, to lose text. And, BB, with us all so looking forwad to your reports - a weighter responsibility.
