Urgent call to members and supporters of Shakespear Open Sanctuary.

We will have a stall to promote the Sanctuary at the Hobbs Wharf Festival this Sunday afternoon and the organisers have asked us to provide volunteers to act as Parking Assistants. This is a last minute request because their source of volunteers has not worked out. In return the organisers will contribute several fence posts to the Sanctuary's Pest Proof Fence. Hi-Viz jacket supplied ! Volunteers needed between 1130 to 1600. Sunday 20 April.
If you can help please let me know.

Details follow:

On Sunday the 20th April this year Gulf Corporation will hold a food, wine and music festival at Hobbs’ Wharf. This will be an informal, laid back market day experience, using as much local talent and involvement as possible. Thge objective is to create local awareness of the Hobbs’ Wharf brand and ensure as many local people as possible see we have started work on the creation of Hobbs’ Wharf.

There will be a variety of wine, beer, and food vendors (eg wild food, a coffee cart, Hallertau Brewery, and four wineries) along with stalls of local interest including Geoff Thomas explaining the use of soft baits, and Coastguard education on water safety and boat handling.

We enjoy the support of Rodney District Council, the local schools and businesses, the Marina, as well as community groups such as the Classic Yacht Association. Local school children have the opportunity to enter an age-group competition. Prizes kindly donated by local businesses will be presented throughout the day.As a headline act the organisers have secured “Hello Sailor” supported by other bands and entertainment.
