Transworld scoops Pro Cycling insiders book

Transworld has acquired a book which promises to lift the lid on doping in the world of professional cycling, The Secret Race: Inside the Hidden World of the Tour de France: Doping, Cover-ups, and Winning at All Costs.

The book, written by former Olympic gold medalist Tyler Hamilton with author Daniel Coyle, was acquired by publishing director Doug Young with editorial director Giles Elliott, who bought UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Denise Cronin at Random House Inc.
It will be published on 20th September 2012, with the publisher saying it will "offer the first deeply detailed window into one of the defining sports stories of our time".
"The narrative centres on Tyler Hamilton, longtime teammate of Lance Armstrong and former world number one ranked rider, and seven-time Tour rider, who spent ten years at the center of it all-going from amateur racer to hero to key witness in one of the biggest doping cases in sports history."

Tyler has given Coyle more than 200 hours of interviews and trips to key Tour locations in Spain and France, with Coyle also speaking to his teammates and independent sources.
