READER'S Feast is back. The much-loved city bookshop, which closed its doors in July, will reopen before Christmas in a prestigious new location - the Georges building in Collins Street.General manager Mary Dalmau will move into the historic CBD building with her long-time 20 staff within weeks, probably early next month.
''Georges has a 'wow' factor. I am really delighted with the outcome, I think it will be fantastic for us, for Georges and for my 26,000 loyal club readers,'' she said. ''They have been waiting, emailing me, desperate to know whether we would be back before Christmas. I am delighted.''

Reader's Feast will take up the mezzanine floor and will stretch from Collins Street through to Little Collins Street.The lease to take up 900 square metres of space in Georges was signed yesterday - virtually 20 years to the day when the bookstore first opened on the corner of Swanston and Bourke streets. The landmark leasing deal was negotiated by Colliers International.
Reader's Feast closed after its owner, REDgroup, went into administration, but now Ms Dalmau and four other shareholders own the bookstore themselves. Ms Dalmau, a past president of the Australian Booksellers Association and bookseller for more than 30 years, is the major owner

Dreadful irony that the "Google Ad" at the top of this story in The Age is for The Book Depository! Book Feast's reopening is good news though, thank you.
