Writers on Mondays - Wellington - a reminder

In the foyer of the IIML sits the Janet Frame desk (left, Robert Cross photo). There’s a beautiful photo of her on the wall alongside. She’s inescapable when it comes to the life blood of New Zealand literature. Frank Sargeson often found her inescapable during the months she lived with him in Takapuna, Auckland 1955-56.
This coming Monday Patrick Evans talks with John Newton about his new novel, described by Kate de Goldi as ‘a magnificent re-imagining of a signal moment in our cultural history.’ Patrick Evans is Professor of English at the University of Canterbury. He is a playwright and a literary critic/ historian. ‘Gifted’ is his third novel.
Writers on Mondays is presented with the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, and additional support from Circa Theatre and City Gallery Wellington. These sessions are open to the public and free of charge.

Date:             Monday 10 October
Time:             12.15-1.15pm
Venue:          Adam Auditorium, City Gallery Wellington.
