In a recent Colmar Brunton poll, 85% of respondents said they had baked something from scratch in the previous 12 months, and 41% of female respondents baked at least once a week.
The cakes in this book are Julie’s tried and true favourites — the ones she comes back to time and time again. Many she’s been making since childhood, others she’s made hundreds and possibly thousands of times over the years in her café or kitchen.
Alongside all the recipes Julie happily shares her own hard-won baking advice. These invaluable hints are the set of nifty tricks she has picked up from a lifetime spent creating cakes.
I have to confess to not being much of a baker but it looks to me that this might be the ultimate cake book, covering every kind of cake for every kind of occasion. A must-have for any cake baker.
