The House That Went to Sea - Melinda Szymanik and Gabriella Klepatski

Michael has to stay with his Granny by the sea while his parents are away on an adventure but when the house floats away the real adventures begin.

A wonderfully imaginative story, full of improbable adventure, by the author of The Were-Nana, a recent winner of the NZ Post Children’s Choice Award.
A very special book, I loved it.

Melinda Szymanik is the author of a number of picture books, short stories and novels for young people. She lives in Auckland with her family, a cat and a dog, runs a business with her husband, and won the NZ Post Children’s Choice Award for her picture book The Were-Nana.

Gabriella Klepatski has been sketching and drawing for as far back as she can remember. In her twenty-five years in New Zealand she has been illustrating books and filling her life with other interests, but her passion for capturing things on paper always bring her back to her sketchbook. People fascinate her the most.
