An Evening with "Gran" - an invitation from Cook the Books
When: Monday 2 May 2011 from 6pm.
Where: Cook the Books - 81 Ponsonby Rd, Ponsonby.
Cook the Books is delighted to be hosting an evening with Natalie Oldfield to celebrate the release of her beautiful new book, Gran's Family Table.
Natalie Oldfield is the owner of award-winning store Dulcie May Kitchen in Mt Eden, Auckland. Natalie opened the doors of her now renowned store in February 2009 to coincide with the release of her first self-published book, Gran's Kitchen. This book went on to win The Gourmand Book Award in Europe, for best local cuisine in New Zealand.
Natalie’s latest work offers a brand new collection of recipes inspired by her grandmother, Dulcie May Booker. Beyond simply the delight of good recipes, Dulcie's legacy for Natalie has been in showing how moments of happiness and celebration are created around the shared preparation and eating of delicious food. Gran's Family Table includes Dulcie's favourites; her breakfast recipe for tasty eggs, her lunchtime classic - green soup - which she often described as 'good for the soul', her heartwarming evening meals and her sumptuous puddings. Some of Dulcie's tried and true recipes have been reinterpreted with a modern twist; others retain the original essence and style that made them so irresistible to so many.
Come and enjoy a glass of wine from our friends at Vidal Estate, and some yummy treats from Gran’s Family Table.
Bookings are essential. Tickets cost $5 and are redeemable against any purchase made on the night.
