True Stories Told Live event back by popular demand this Sunday July 4th

Ever wondered how life is somehow stranger than fiction?
As Neil Gaiman once said fiction has to be convincing and life doesnt. Life owes no obligation to be good art.

True Stories, Told Live events: seven people, seven stories, straight up, unscripted, live and unrehearsed.
An ex-nun, a celebrant, an acclaimed short story writer, a biographer, a theatre director, a scholar, physiotherapist will take to the stage.

In this new and highly entertaining format, the Book Council gets reacquainted with the oral tradition -- storytelling in a different form.
Its about getting up in a room in front of an audience and telling a story. It could be anything but something with a beginning, a middle and an end and it sort of needs to be true
Its about attempting to bring back the oral tradition, about not losing focus amongst all that technology, its about our own imaginations and that connective inspiration.

So what do you think? Want to hear a story?
