Fans of the classic childhood novel Swallows and Amazons will soon have the opportunity to live out the adventures for themselves as a Victorian boathouse, thought to have inspired author Arthur Ransome, goes up for sale.
The historic boathouse, on the eastern shore of Coniston Water, in Cumbria, has been put on the market for £150,000.
It is expected to attract attention from across the globe as a new film version of the story is due out next year.

Arthur Ransome was known to visit a nearby house, owned by the children at writer William Collingwood, at the beginning of the last century
