Penguin Random House US - new cross-company senior management team

Penguin Random House has announced a new cross-company senior management team for the merged company's combined fulfillment operations. President and coo Madeline McIntosh notes that "of the many opportunities we will have in our new company to invest in operational capabilities, our physical supply chain is one of the most essential." She adds that "the project to develop a cohesive Penguin Random House fulfillment network...will extend over time, with our separate Penguin and Random House distribution centers' day-to-day operational responsibilities remaining unchanged in the meantime."


Random House's Annette Danek has been named svp, director of fulfillment, overseeing both the operation and the evolving integration of the US fulfillment network for the combined company. Penguin's James Clark will report to Danek and serve as svp, fulfillment and customer service, Penguin USA. Mike Gallagher moves from overseeing Penguin's warehouses to "apply his complete attention and experience to working with the cross-company team on our future print vendor agreements." He continues to report to Penguin evp, business operations Doug Whiteman. Penguin's svp, transportation and customer compliance Andrew Orlando, "has decided to retire at year's end after completing nearly 35 years of extraordinary service to the company." Valerie Van Delft will take over his responsibilities.

The integration of Penguin and Random House was always expected to start with the two companies’ back office operations, and this morning Penguin Random House U.S. president and COO Madeline McIntosh announced the creation of a cross-company senior management team for PRH’s fulfillment operations.
