Tim Corballis has won the competition this year with his essay 'Winter', which will be published in Landfall 226: Heaven and Hell.
There were two runners up: Eva Ng with 'A fruitful life' and Maggie Rainey-Smith with 'Who is left'.
Two others were highly commended: Siobhan Harvey ('A boy called Cloud') and Ivan Miller ('Where we belong').
