John Murray is continuing its publishing of forgotten classics under its Heritage imprint, with four more L P Hartley titles coming in 2013.The four titles will all be £9.99 paperbacks, and available in e-book format too, with rights having been acquired through the Society of Authors. The first two coming on 28th March will be A Perfect Woman, fi rst published in 1954 and depicting the “twists and turns of human relationships”; and The Boat, described as “a complex masterpiece of observation on English village life in wartime Britain”.
Following in June are The Betrayal, the sequel to Hartley’s The Brickfield, in which central character Richard Mardick confesses how the death of Lucy, his young love, has warped his inner life; and My Fellow Devils, about the turbulent marriage of a young woman and her film-star
