JESUS THE COLD CASE TO BE PUBLISHED IN POLAND

A controversial book about the historical Jesus written by Kiwi author and documentary maker Bryan Bruce is to be published in Poland. The book published in New Zealand by Random House in April of this year reached the best sellers list within a few days of its release.

Now Cartablanca, a leading Polish publisher has picked up the Wellington based author's book and has announced  plans to release it next Easter when Bruce's 90 minute documentary based on the book will also be released internationally

"I'm absolutely delighted" said Bruce."Poland is a country of some 38 million people , 95% of whom are Catholic. The last Pope came from there.
So it will be interesting to see how it is received."

Bruce (pic right)  is well known in New Zealand as writer, director and presenter of THE INVESTIGATOR  on TVONE whose documentary special on Robin Bain screened to an audience of 630,000 last Tuesday and made headlines the next day.

Using techniques he has developed as a Cold Case Investigator Bruce set out to discover who killed Jesus and Why.

"What I tried to do was make 200 years of biblical scholarship accessible to the average reader. And during the course of my interviews with some of the world's leading biblical scholars, I came to understand  how a theology of hatred toward the Jews came to to wired in to a Gospel of love."

"My story begins in Nazareth and finishes not on a Cross outside the walls of Old Jerusalem, but at the oven doors of Auschwitz. Hence, I suspect, the Polish interest in the book."
