Coronation Street actor to pen memoir for S&S

Simon & Schuster has bought the memoir of actor Bill Tarmey, best known for his role as Jack Duckworth in “Coronation Street”, for a “healthy six figure sum”.

The publisher will release Being Jack—My Life on the Street and Other Adventures in hardback in October.

Kerri Sharp, senior commissioning editor for non-fiction, bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Jonathan Groves at the Billy Marsh Agency.

She said: “The book is a must for fans of both ‘Coronation Street’ and of classic British TV.”
