12 JULY Wellywood Woman: Marian Evans
Marian Evans is a cultural activist, member of the Spiral Collective that published Keri Hulme's Booker Prize-winning novel the bone people, and the recipient of an Embassy Trust Prize for her MA feature script. Her recently completed PhD looks at women writers’ and directors’ participation in feature film-making, and she is using her thesis screenplay – Development – to test an alternative feature film production pathway. She discusses women in film with chair Lydia Wevers.
Note: This event will be filmed for Marian Evans' Development project. Filming may include some audience shots.
Writers on Mondays is presented by the International Institute of Modern Letters and The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
These events take place at 12.15-1.15pm, at The Marae, Level 4, Te Papa. Please note that no food may be taken onto The Marae.
