The long-term publisher of Nigella Lawson, Chatto & Windus, is bringing out the eighth recipe book by the self-styled domestic goddess this autumn, accompanied by a 13-part BBC Two series.
Dubbed “feel-good food from the most important room in the house” Kitchen: Recipes from the Heart of the Home will be published in hardback this September, priced £25.
It features 180 recipes, from express recipes “for the time-strapped” and weekend recipes “to help unwind, either alone or with family or friends”. The title will be illustrated with photographs by Lis Parsons, as well as step-by-step pictures, ingredient portraits and kitchen snapshots, “some of them taken by Nigella in the course of writing the book”.
The publisher added: “In typical Nigella style she will be helping to solve ‘kitchen quandaries’ while doling out ‘kitchen comfort’ in ladles.”
Gail Rebuck, chief executive of Random House, said the title was “a particular joy”. She added: “Expansive, delicious, gloriously illustrated, the perfect companion volume to her unique How To Eat (1999), [it is] a book that will quickly become a classic in every kitchen.”
According to BookScan, Lawson’s previous seven titles have sold nearly 2.7 million copies, worth more than £40m, with Nigella Express (2007) the top title, having sold more than 810,000 copies.
