TIME MAGAZINE August 23, 2007

I was reading this issue of Time while flying down to Wellington this afternoon and came across a marvelous piece under the heading:

What would William Read? Writers reveal their guilty summer pleasures

What follows is a paragraph from each of nine writers talking about a book they are reading over the holidays.
Writers include Jane Smiley, Tina Brown, Margaret Drabble, Alexander McCall Smith and you might be like me and find their reading choices quite surprising.

Well worth a read if you have this issue of Time (major cover story on India which celebrates 50 years of independence this month) otherwise use this link.
