Writers working in the Mind
Body Spirit genre have until 31 March to enter the 2017 Ashton Wylie Charitable
Trust Literary Awards.
The awards, which are now in
their 14th year, have two categories, one for Books and another for
Unpublished Manuscripts. The winner in each category receives a $10,000 prize.
Spokesperson for the Trust,
Adonia Wylie, says the judging panel is looking for fiction or non-fiction
works that have the potential to uplift and enhance people, relationships and
society.
“It is extremely pleasing to
reward talented established and emerging writers. The diversity and quality of
works submitted in previous years has been impressive. We very much look
forward to reading this year’s entries.”
The awards are unique in the
country for their encouragement of writing in the Mind Body Spirit genre.
Last year, Nelson retired
software engineer, Alastair Bruce Scott-Hill, won the Book Category, for The
Paranormal is Normal published by Xcell Books. Wellington astrologer and
yoga practitioner Linda George won the Unpublished Manuscript Category with Living
in the Big Picture.
