PANZ is delighted to announce award winning Australian graphic designer Jenny
Grigg as the guest international speaker at the Oceanbridge Book Design
Workshop on 18 July.
After art directing Rolling Stone Magazine and HQ Magazine in Sydney, Jenny
moved across to book publishing and has designed covers for authors including
Paul Auster, Peter Carey and Eleanor Catton – yes, she designed The Luminaries
cover.
Jenny is currently art director at Scribe Publishing in Melbourne and
freelances for Granta Portobello Books in London
The design workshop will follow the same format as last year: the panel of
judges will discuss the awards entries and defend their decisions of the night
before! Jenny Grigg will speak next, and the event will end with a lively panel
discussion on a design-related hot topic. The full programme will be available
soon.
The venue is the National Library, 8 Stanley Street, Parnell on Friday 18 July
from 9.30am – 1pm. $40 incl GST for early bird tickets bought before 5pm Friday
4 July and $45 if purchased later. For ticket details see the Book Design
Awards website or download
a copy of the registration form here.
