Michael King Writers’ Centre to welcome author Kelly Ana Morey (Ngati Kuri)
to Devonport.
Kelly
Ana has combined her love of writing with her love of horses in her latest
novel about the famous race horse Phar Lap. Her book explores why Phar Lap
meant so much to people, why he became a Depression-era hero and national
icon, and the compulsion that drives people who love horses. An award-winning
author, Kelly Ana has written four novels, three social histories, a memoir,
short stories and poetry. She holds the Maori Writer’s Residency at the
Michael King Writers’ Centre this year.
