The Virginia Quarterly Review invites you to apply to our 2014 Writers' Conference at the scenic Boar's Head Inn near the University of Virginia. The conference is focused on but not limited to Southern literature, and we welcome applicants from across the country and abroad who want to learn from our internationally distinguished faculty. Enrollment is based on the potential for literary excellence. Scholarships for promising applicants are available. The scholarship application deadline is July 15. The regular application deadline is July 31.

The conference will include genre workshops, a fiction craft lecture with Tom Franklin, a magazine-writing discussion with Scott Stossel, editor of the Atlantic, and three days of readings, craft talks, and panels.
