In 1847, mathematician Oliver Byrne published a strange and stunning edition of Euclid’s Elements with illustrations that, today, look beautiful enough to frame. Thankfully for those of us who don’t own a copy of the Victorian-era volume, Taschen is about to reissue a gorgeous edition of the book, filled with the figures and diagrams of one of history’s most famous math and geometry treatises. Who, Exactly, Will Buy the ’300 Sandwiches’ Book?

Here’s the thing: it’d be pretty great to get a book deal. I think it’s something that a lot of people who write online — either commenting on pop culture in publications like Flavorwire or writing about themselves on their personal blogs — are not-so-secretly striving toward. I know a handful of people who successfully parlayed their clever blog idea into a quick book. 
Sure, it’ll sit on a table in the front of an Urban Outfitters (every time I walk into that store, I feel like I’m looking at the Tumblr dashboard), but it’s still pretty nice to monetize one’s Google Image Search / funny caption skills.
