Interestingly there is a whole page advertisement in this latest issue for Life after Life by Kate Atkinson who is one of the star attractions at this week's Auckland Writers & Readers Festival. Goodness knows what a whole page ad in The New Yorker costs but in all the years I have been reading The New Yorker I do not recall an ad of this size being devoted to a single book.
The page includes excerpts from various reviews of the book. I like this one from Entertainment Weekly the best:
"Kate Atkinson shines a light on how full life is of choices and chance, and how lucky we are to live in it."
