Writers on Mondays

Is ‘home’ where the heart is?
In this session, Dinah Hawken and Pat White will discuss themes that are dear to both of them: notions of place and of home; of longing and belonging; of respect and paying attention - to where we are and to who is there with us. Dinah Hawken’s latest poetry collection, ‘The Leaf Ride’ (VUP 2011), shows her continuing to explore ideas of transience, beauty and particularity. Pat White’s prose memoir, ‘How the Land Lies’ (VUP 2010), unravels the connections that energise his creative life as a poet, a painter, a teacher and an environmentalist.
Bernadette Hall will chair this session.
