Celebrating Katherine Mansfield – at the bay!


The New Zealand Society of Authors is holding an evening of wine and pizza at the Days Bay Pavilion, Monday 8 August 6.30 pm. Guest speaker Dr Gerri Kimber, UK-based Chair of the Katherine Mansfield Society will talk about the proposed ‘Woman of Words’ sculpture. Planned for Midland Park, and designed by Virginia King, the sculpture is intended to commemorate the life and work of New Zealand’s most internationally recognised literary figure Katherine Mansfield.  
  Don Long, local writer and historian, will introduce Dr Kimber and set the historical scene for the writing of KM’s ‘At the Bay’..
Cost: $25.00 (includes a glass of wine and pizza, and donation towards the fund-raising for the sculpture).
