Penguin gains top app position for Spot

An app based on Frederick Warne’s Spot character became the top paid-for iPad book app just days after its release last week. Apple wants to position the iPad as a family-friendly device and is understood to have supported the app launch. The app was launched last Thursday and remains at the top of the Books category in the iPad's app store, not the iBookstore.
