Most appealing cover. Interesting page at the end of the book about Xinran's charity, The Mothers' Bridge of Love.
Born in Beijing Xiran is a successful journalist & broadcaster - The Good Women of China was her first book which told stories of women in rural China in the 20th century. She moved to London in 1977. If you missed her in 2008, at the ChCh Writers' Festival, here is another chance to hear this amazing woman.
Her charity, The Mothers’ Bridge of Love was founded to help disadvantaged Chinese children and to build a bridge of understanding between the West and China and speaks to mothers and adopted daughters everywhere.
