Adaptations score gongs at Baftas

Best actress and actor gongs went to stars of the big book adaptations at this year's Baftas, although "An Education", based on Lynne Barber's memoirs missed out on Best Film.
Colin Firth took the leading actor prize for his part in "A Single Man", an adaptation of Christopher Isherwood’s novel (Vintage Classics) while Carey Mulligan took home the leading actress prize for her part in the adaptation of An Education (Penguin).
Mo’nique was also named best supporting actress for her part in "Precious", based on Push by Sapphire.
