An invitation to the BWB Winter Series

Dear Friends
Welcome to the BWB Winter Series! Please do come to hear BWB authors, at events throughout July (and more in August):
Helene Wong’s talks in Auckland at the Auckland Writers Festival and (with Roseanne Liang) the Auckland Art Gallery have drawn overflowing crowds – her story resonates with so many of us.
And on 20 July in Wellington, Human Rights in New Zealand by Judy McGregor, Sylvia
Bell and Margaret Wilson will be launched at the Royal Society at 5.30 for 6 p.m. The authors will talk about the New Zealand’s human rights record, and (with Andrew Butler in the chair) chart some ways forward. This timely book is co-published with the New Zealand Law Foundation, with a preface by Dame Silvia Cartwright.
Professor Judy McGregor has just been acknowledged as Supreme Winner in the 2016 Women in Governance Awards, recognising her leadership in journalism, media management, research, and teaching.
And BWB has just won the Book Industry Special Award for the second year in a row! Booksellers and publishers alike are doing amazing things through these changing times, so we feel privileged to have this acknowledgement from the booktrade.
We appreciate your interest in our books, Texts and events – and there is more to come, with two fine publications in October. More Texts then too – great summer reading, Christmas giving.
All good wishes,
From the BWB Team.
